Events in the Planning
Second Annual Storytelling Contest
We're planning this for the end of June, around the time the first one was held. We intend to make it an even bigger success than the first, and hopefully we can get more contestants in. We will be more closely monitering the times of the stories and will meet with everyone beforehand. We are not accepting contestants yet, but start looking for good tales and practicing them.
Stupidest Death Comparison Contest
Thought up by Lady Neriya, a contest where the contestents tell the tale of the most foolish, romantic or ridiculous way they died, prizes to be awarded to the best ones.
Gambling Night
A night to, you guessed it, gamble. Held in the house's very own game room, it would involve dicing and other games of chance. Any ideas on games to include, let us know!
Sleep In
Everyone throwing on their pajamas and grabbing their pillows for a fun late night. Also playing games such as you did when you were a child. Including charades, hide-and-find/sardines, truth or dare, etc.
Comedy Wedding
Giving us all a chance to refine our acting skills, we would hold a mock wedding that would be entertaining for everyone who came.
Nobility Auction
We are going to have a nobility "flower" auction during the Spring Party, so we likely won't have a seperate one for a while.
Elanthian Trivia Contest
Our first Trivia Contest was fun for those that attended, and we will be looking into having another one sometime in the future.
Fashion Show
Ever just wanted to come down the crystal path, strike a dramatic pose and then walk off swinging your hips? Now's your chance! We're planning a fashion show for the members to participate in, though we'll try to get others to come and watch. We're considering have this be twofold, a first one for fun, then one in the spring charging admittance for non-members.
Auctions
The house is offering to auction your stuff, taking the customary 10% of the profits you make on the item. We may be having more auctions in the future.
Drag Races
We tried this once before, but the response was not "overwhelming." We're going to be trying this again sometime later in the year. Teams have to have at least one person in Sovyn, two people to a team. We may be giving out random prizes as well as prizes to the winners if we have enough teams competing.
Dancing Lessons
We hope to offer several different types of dancing lesson in the near future. Perhaps we will even have dancing competitions if the classes go well. The classes will include a wide range of dancing styles taught by a wide range of members.
Show and Tell Night
Do you have a "prized possesion"? Or just something you like to show off? Well, here's your opportunity to do so! If you're interested in having your housemates "ooh" and "ahh" over your things, sign up!
Box-Collecting Contest
This would be a contest where the participants go out and collect as many full, un-opened boxes as they can. The boxes would be returned to Sovyn with the profits going to the House and prizes given to the winners. Poaching will not be permitted and will result in expulsion from the contest. (Suggested by Moggard)
Races
Akin to treasure hunts, a race would take the participants all over the lands, collecting items and reaching checkpoints as proof they've been there. (Suggested by Empfighter)
Sir and Lady Sovyn Competitions A competition to choose a member to represent us in all the 'social' functions of the lands. Vaguely... well, you can guess what it is, though it won't be based entirely on looks, participation and good taste will be very important. More to come.
House Games
We are sending a team to the games, let's all wish them the best of luck!
Annual House Sovyn Anniversary Party
This would be a great way to get everyone together, plus we could also use it to sneak in some historic speeches and such about our house. (To preserve some of the less fortunate members' ailing memories.) More to come.
